The mission of the Office of Compassion is to strengthen Oregon by ensuring every public decision reflects empathy, understanding, and individual circumstances while fostering policies that expand opportunities for continued compassion.
About the Office
Compassion demands that every circumstance be considered individually, particularly when applying the same standards to everyone might produce uncomfortable outcomes. The Office ensures Oregon’s policies remain flexible enough to recognize exceptions, understand exceptions to those exceptions, and compassionately address the consequences created by both. Because rules matter, but understanding why they shouldn’t always apply matters too.
